One of the happiest people in the world!
The question is not “Can you make a difference?” You already do make a difference. It’s just a matter of what kind of a difference you want to make during your life on this planet.

I Am Here To:

  • Defuse hate, anger and violence.
  • Foster peace everywhere I go.
  • Practice surrender.
  • Bring hope, joy, love and peace to everyone around me, especially those who are destitute for them.
  • Nurture harmony.
  • Nurture our destiny, which is to love each other and care for each other and…

What if a demon were to creep after you one night, in your loneliest loneliness, and say, “This life which you live must be lived by you once again and innumerable times more; and every pain and joy and thought and sigh must come again to you, all in the same sequence. The eternal hourglass will again and again be turned-and you with it, dust of the dust!” Would you throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse that demon? Or would you answer, “Never have I heard anything more divine?

Connected!

I think the only thing in life that matters is connection.  The more people I make a genuine connection with, the more I feel that we are actually part of something much larger.  Science shows us how atoms interact to make molecules that assemble into larger macromolecules that can make enzymes or lipids or informational molecules like DNA.  These molecules can then connect to create organelles within cells that make up tissues.  Tissues coalesce to create organs that, only together, create us.  But why should this increasingly complex, increasingly beautiful level of organization stop with us as individuals.  I believe it does not, cannot.  When we harm one another, when we hate one another, when we fail to love one another, we harm ourselves!  If this is right, perhaps you and I are just two cells in the liver of something much more grand!!    M!

Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better take things as they come along with patience and equanimity.

Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.

Shangri La Suburbanite!

I’ve been told that I don’t live in the real world!  University life, surrounded by young men and women, bent on both learning and having the times of their lives, without jobs, bills, responsibilities, children is not the way the rest of the world lives.  Maybe so, but if I can live among an energetic, empathetic, compassionate, engaged, idealistic, tolerant, engaged group of people, young and old, you can have the real world!  This is the world more like it should be.  I don’t live in Shangri La, but I’m in its suburbs!

M!

If you listen,
Not to the pages or preachers
But to the smallest flower
Growing from a crack
In your heart,
You will hear a great song
Moving across a wide ocean
Whose water is the music
Connecting all the islands
Of the universe together,
And touching all
You will feel it
Touching you
Around you
Embracing you
With light.
